Veterans of Morgan County Touchscreen App

The Morgan County Archives procured funding and a collection of artifacts from Veterans of all U.S. wars beginning with World War I for a permanent installation called “Veterans of Morgan County.” My role in the project was to design and art direct the development of a touchscreen application to be installed at the exhibit. The app is designed to be an expandable archive of memorabilia and stories of the Veterans of Morgan County. Videos of the Decatur Daily series the “Vanishing Generation” are included, allowing visitors to watch stories of World War II told by those who fought. There are archives of hand-written letters and news stories, a Veteran roster, and an artifact archive, all filterable by conflict. Most of the photos allow the user to zoom in to read the stories or find out more detail.
